Wendell C. Nanney, 84, of Echols, passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was born Dec. 28, 1929, in Detroit, Mich., to the late Hiram Calvin and Beulah Johnson Nanney.
He was a retired bookkeeper.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Avis Gleason Nanney, of Echols; one son, Bruce (Micah) Nanney of Owensboro; one stepson, Timothy Michael (Connie) Breese of Holmen, Wisc. Wendell was blessed with four grandchildren, Jacob Nanney, Ben Nanney, Sarah Nanney, and Mikey Nanney all of Owensboro, and three stepgrandchildren also survive.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 10, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Greg Hillard officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home.
