Thelma Ann Denham Green, 76, of Morgantown, Ky., passed away Friday, June 6, 2014, at her residence after a brief illness. Thelma was born Aug. 9, 1937, in Edmonson County, to the late Berry and Flossie Denham.
She was a homemaker, a florist, an apartment manager and an avid gardener. She enjoyed singing with family and friends, she also sang with Lenny’s Girls, loved the beach and was a volunteer at Morgantown Care and Rehab. She was a member of the Beaver Dam Chapel United Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Stanley Johnson and infant son Anthony Johnson, and one great-grandchild, Sarah Elizabeth Jones.
She is survived by her husband of 16 years, Robert C. Green of Morgantown; three daughters, Debra Jones and husband, Tom, of Morgantown, Sharon Kidd and husband, Kenneth, of Glasgow and Melissa Robinson and husband, Todd, of Morgantown; one stepson Jim Green and wife, Fammie, of Morgantown; three grandchildren, Jason Jones and wife, Tiffani, of Morgantown, Wesley Jones and wife, Miranda, of Morgantown and Benjamin Kidd and wife, Tiffany, of Glasgow; three step grandchildren, Jaclyn Green of Bowling Green, Juleah Green of Louisville and Jordan Green of Bowling Green; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon, Brady, Madison, Grant and Leah Jones, all of Morgantown, and Calleigh and Lucas Kidd of Glasgow.
Funeral Service will be held at Smith Funeral Home Sunday, June 8, at 2:30 p.m. with Bro. Roger Taylor officiating . Burial will follow in the Kinslow Cemetery in Edmonson County. Visitation will be Saturday , June 7, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Sunday from 8 a.m. until time of service at Smith Funeral Home.
