Stella Elaine Gray, 96, of Hartford, Ky., passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at her residence. She was born Feb. 19, 1918, in Monroe County, Ky., to the late Robert Head and Ada Jearlds Head.
Mrs. Gray was a retired cook, member of Hartford Church of Christ and enjoyed quilting, sewing and her flowers.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Gray, in 1955; one son, Shelby Gray; one daughter, Lavonne Gillim; one grandson, Chris Gray and two great-grandsons, Joshua Coomes and Chris Gilstrap.
Survivors include two daughters, Dinah Goodall of Hartford and Betty Robling of Richland, Ind.; one daughter-in-law, Barbara Gray of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren, Gereald Goodall of Waddy, Ky., Holly Hayes of Beaver Dam, Delana Schmidt of Rockport, Ind., Sonia Roth of Richland, Ind., Patricia Lashley of Richland, Ind., Rebecca Robling of Rockport, Ind., Kathy Gillim of Lexington, Ky., Sharon Sielder of Charleston, W.V., and Jeanie Richerson of Owensboro, Ky.; nine great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 3, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with James Hogan, Minister officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Ky.
