RubyLeeElmoreRuby Lee Elmore, 94, of Beaver Dam, Ky., passed away Monday, May 19, 2014, at Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hartford, Ky. She was born Oct. 25, 1919, in Centertown, Ky., to the late Charlie King and Georgia Lee Goff King.

Mrs. Elmore retired after 34 years of service from Montpelier Glove factory in Hartford, was a member of Lone Star Baptist Church, was an avid quilter and loved fishing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thelmer Dee Elmore, on Nov. 12, 1991; son, Charles Edward Elmore, on Jan. 23, 1940; two brothers, Gene King and Carlos King and one sister, Mary Stone.

Survivors include three daughters, Linda Brown (Glen) of Robards, Ky., Janie Caroleene Burgess (Rodger) of Beaver Dam and Maxine Gwynn (Stephen) of Centertown; four grandchildren, James Shown (Debbie), Pennye Lacer (Brent), Jenny Hamilton (David) and Stephanie Hoskins (Jason); five great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and one sister, Helen Ware of Centertown.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Kentucky with Bro. Bobby Phelps officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Central Grove Cemetery in Ohio County, Ky.
