
He was a farmer, former Principal of Ohio County Middle School and substitute teacher for the Todd County School Board. Mr. James Earl was also area distributor for Rainbow Home Cleaning Systems. He was a graduate of Western Kentucky University and a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. He was a member of Gideon’s Elkton Camp, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Friends of Jeff Davis Park and former member of Board of Directors of Hopkinsville Elevator.
He was preceded in death by his son, James David (Cindy) Stokes in 2010.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Sharon Brown Stokes of Fairview; his granddaughters, Sarah (Matthew) Ballard of Fairview and Hannah (Sammy) Webb of Goodlettsville, Tenn.; and his great-granddaughters, Kathryn and Madelyn Ballard.
Services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 6, at Latham Funeral Home with Rev. Gayla Webb officiating. Burial will follow in the Glenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at Latham Funeral Home.
