Lela Liles Davis, 89, of Hartford, Ky., passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014, at Professional Care Heath & Rehab Center in Hartford. She was born on May 14, 1924, in Cromwell, Ky., to the late Henry Liles and Eural Pirtle Liles.
Mrs. Davis retired from General Electric in Owensboro, Ky., and was a member of Hartford United Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest Davis, on Aug. 25, 1974; her twin, Lena Gross, on June 13, 2004; a sister, Mildred Douglas, on Oct. 17, 1957; brother-in-law, Coleman Douglas, on June 16, 1956, and a niece, Brenda Douglas, on March 16, 1965.
Survivors include her cousin, Geneva Pirtle Brown of Owensboro, Ky.; a brother-in-law, Don Gross of Masonville, Ky., and many friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Rev. Bob Clements officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Ky.
