ZakaryEmbryZakary Dane Embry, 17, of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, April 5, 2014, in Beaver Dam. He was born April 24, 1996, in Daviess County to Joseph Dane and Kamala Jo Knight Embry.

He was a junior at Ohio County High School in Hartford, attended Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Beaver Dam, was a Volunteer Fire Fighter for the city of Beaver Dam, and worked for Young’s Hardware in Beaver Dam. His passion in life was his niece, Loralei. Zak loved hunting, fishing, and hanging out with his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Jean Bibb and maternal grandfather, Joseph “Jack” Knight.

Survivors include his parents, Joe and Kamala Embry of Beaver Dam; one sister, Kasady (David, Jr.) Stevens of Beaver Dam; one brother, Jackson Embry of Beaver Dam; one niece, Loralei Jo Stevens of Beaver Dam; paternal grandparents, Roger and Margaret Embry of Beaver Dam, and maternal grandmother, Lynda Knight of Morgantown. Zak has been blessed with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends including his girlfriend, Chelsea Cooper of Cromwell.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 9, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Greg Hillard officiating. Burial will be in Walnut Grove Cemetery near Morgantown, Ky. Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
