Pete Allen Pinkston, 81, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, March 27, 2014. He was born Oct. 3, 1932, in Daviess County, Ky., to the late Pete and Myrtle Goatee Pinkston.
He was employed with Green Construction for 40 years and a member of the Heavy Equipment Operators Union Local 181. He enjoyed equipment auctions, wrestling and horse races.
Aside from his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ada Irene Pinkston (1996); two brothers, C.W. Pinkston, J.T. Pinkston; five sisters, Mary Elizabeth Harris, Fannie Conkright, Bertha Jackson, Viola Littlepage, Mary Buck; and grandson, James Allen Pinkston, Jr.
Surviving is a son, James Pinkston and his companion Benita Hagan of Fordsville; a daughter, Joy Kessler of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Katie Kessler (Richard) Howard, Cynthia Orene Pinkston and her companion Zachery Baughn, Dylan Onstott; and three great-grandchildren, DeHaven Kessler.
Services will be 1 p.m. Wednesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home with burial to follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Cementery.
Visitation will be 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Haley-McGinnis & Owensboro Funeral Home and after 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
