Charles Ray Whitler, 74, of Beaver Dam, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at Rockcastle Community Hospital in Mt. Vernon, Ky. He was born Aug. 3, 1939, in McHenry to the late Gilbert and Inez Taylor Whitler.
He was a retired painter.
Beside his parents he was preceded in death by one daughter, Jennifer Ann Jeffers and a sister, Margaret Wallace.
Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Kathy Jeffers Whitler of Beaver Dam; two sons, Ray Charles Whitler of Rockport and Jerry Ray Whitler of Lewisport; one daughter, Norma Jean Goff of McHenry; four brothers, Jackie Whitler and Danny Whitler both of McHenry, Jimmy Whitler of Centertown, and Cecil Whitler of Beaver Dam, and one sister, Joyce Decker of Rockport, Ky. Charles was blessed with nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 2, at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Sister Mary Doepel officiating. Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
