Clifton Moore Hack, 68, of Caneyville, passed away Sunday, March 30, 2014, at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. He was born on Feb. 22, 1946, in Grayson County, the son of the late Roy and Gertrude (Mudd) Hack.
Clifton worked over 20 years for Southwind Coal Mine in Ohio County. Then he retired from the Grayson County Road Department in 2008. Clifton was a member of the American Legion Post 81. He enjoyed watching his favorite team, the Kentucky Wildcats and loved growing watermelons. He was a loving dad and papaw.
Clifton is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Brooks (Michael) of Caneyville and Stacey Harvey of Hartford; one grandson, Chris Brooks of Caneyville; three granddaughters, Courtney Piercy also of Caneyville, Karey Leach of Hartford and Kasey Roth of Tennessee; one great-grandson, Kamden Piercy of Caneyville; one brother, Roger Hack of Morgantown and two sisters, Opal Reynolds and Alma Bratcher both of Caneyville. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his four brothers, Amos, Larry, Hershel, and Richard.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, April 2, at 1 p.m. at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville. Bro. Steve Mahurin will be officiating. Burial will be in the Wilson Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Tuesday after 5 p.m. and Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of service.
