RonnieBowenRonnie Joe Bowen, 68, of Central City, died March 21, 2014, at 7:40 a.m. at his residence following a lengthy illness. Mr. Bowen was born Aug. 1, 1945, in Muhlenberg County and was a 1965 graduate of Central City High School where he played basketball and baseball.

Following high school career, he was in the military from 1966-1968 as a member of the Army. After his time in the Army, Mr. Bowen graduated from Western Kentucky University with a degree in computer science. Mr. Bowen then worked for York International as a Senior Computer Analyst, at Madisonville, Ky., Elyria, Ohio, and Norman, Okla.

Mr. Bowen is preceded in death by his parents, Delmar and Dessye Bowen and a sister, Jeanette Durham.

Survivors include his brothers, Jimmy Bowen and Jackie Bowen of Central City; sister, Judy (Wayne) Bryant of Echols; nieces and nephews, Starla Rice, Rita Durham, Jennifer (Jerry) Lear, Melissa Bryant, Julie (Tommy) Horning, Jonathan (Cassie) Bryant, Kimberly (Joe) Vanhook, Jackie Bowen Jr.; great nieces and nephews, Lynsey Rice, Aaron Rice, Jackson Bowen, Bryceson Bowen, ShaunMichael Vanhook, Alex Vanhook, Lainey Horning, Levi Lear, Amber Lear, Jerri Beth Lear, Sara Stephens.

Funeral services will be Monday, March 24, at 2 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City with Bro. Willard Watson officiating and Bro. Jerry Rowe assisting. Burial will follow in Pond Run Cemetery in Echols. Visitation will be Sunday, March 23, at 5 p.m. at the funeral home.
