Nila Jean (Chinn) Kerner, 77, of Des Plaines, Ill., went home to be with the Lord Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014, at Rainbow Hospice Ark Facility in Park Ridge Ill. She was born April 4, 1936, the daughter of the late Naomi C. Eskridge and Paul D. Chinn.
Nila Jean Kerner was a Member of Moody Church in Chicago, Ill., where she was also in the Choir for over 30 years. Nila Jean also attended South Park Church in Park Ridge, Ill. She taught Sunday School, Vacation Bible School and worked with several Missions at various Churches. Nila Jean was retired from Lutheran General Hospital, where she had worked with the Pediatric Surgeons and the NICU.
Nila Jean is survived by her two children, son, Robert L Kerner of Des Plaines, Ill., and daughter, Leslie Rebekah Kerner of Chicago Ill., and grandson, Kerry-Mitchell Reed Kerner.
Memorial Services will be held at a later date in Beaver Dam, Ky.
