Nelda Louise Riggs, 59, of Caneyville, passed away Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born on May 3, 1954, in Fordsville, the daughter of I.J. and Lou Cindy (Hayse) White.
Nelda was a homemaker and a dog groomer at Shaggy Dog in Leitchfield. She attended the United Methodist Church of Morgantown and was a pianist for six years. She enjoyed times at Lake Malone fishing. Most of all, she enjoyed life.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Nelda is survived by her husband of 23 years, Gary Riggs; two sons, Josh Travis Taylor of Owensboro and Leonard Arthur Taylor of Taylorsville; four daughters Amanda Louise Taylor of Owensboro, Janet Riggs of Spring Lick, Jessica Taylor of Millwood and Tamatha Riggs of Caneyville and eight grandchildren.
The family has chosen cremation with a memorial service to be held at the Dermitt-Joyce Funeral Home in Caneyville Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1 p.m. Bro. Gerald Geary will be officiating.
