Kathleen Ferguson Smith, age 76, was born on July 24, 1937, in Arnold, Ky., (Ohio Co.) to the late Ernest Charles and Mamie Kathern Coy Ferguson. She passed away on Jan. 10, 2014, at her home.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Lora Ann Smith and a great-grandson, Tildon Connor Cooper.
She was a homemaker and worked several years at Bryant’s Grocery. She was a member of the Oak Ridge General Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Linden Dale Smith, three daughters; Kathy Lynn Cooper (Jimmy), Belinda Sue Henderson (Melton) and Kebra Renee Howe (Joe), five grandchildren; Jeremy Tildon Cooper (Sara), Sherri Lynn Kirby (Joey) Mallory Brooke Jenkins (Brian), Amanda Gail Alford (Jessie) and Kelsey Jo Howe, seven great-grandchildren; Trenton, Delaney, Kaitlyn, Jasmine, Jersy, Mason and Paisley; one sister; Charlene Sexton of Louisville, Ky.; two brothers; Carlton Ferguson and Carlis Ferguson both of Horse Branch, Ky. Several nieces and nephews, good friends and family that have passed through her life, have walked into her home, and sat around her table.
Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Jan. 13, at the Oak Ridge General Baptist Church in Morgantown, Ky., Bro. Jimmy Cushenberry will be officiating. Burial will be in the Smith Home Cemetery.
Visitation will be at Oak Ridge General Baptist Church from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sunday and from 9 a.m. Monday until time of services.
