EdwardfFordEdward B. “Corky” Ford, 79, passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at the Ohio County Hospital in Hartford.  He was born Aug. 20, 1934, in Horse Branch son of the late Ernest and Nola Calloway Ford.

Corky worked for Peabody Coal at Alston #3.  He also was a Deputy Sheriff in Ohio County, worked as a City Policeman in Hartford and was a Deputy Jailer.He was a member of Friedland Lodge #863 F&AM in Horse Branch and served in the U.S. Marines.

Survivors include his wife Joyce Ford; one daughter Michele McKinney of Smiths Grove and one sister Barbara Shartzer of Wildwood, Mo.

Funeral services will be held Monday , Dec. 30, at 11 a.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Bro. Merle Ford officiating.  Burial will follow in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam.

Friends may visit with the family from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
