James Edward Young, 93, of Hartford, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, at Professional Care Health & Rehab. He was born April 3, 1920, in Ohio County, Ky., to the late Ollie Franklin Young and Rosie Nell Bratcher Young.
Mr. Young retired from Farmers Supply Southern States in Beaver Dam and was a member of Dundee Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert Young and Henry Young and four sisters, Bertha Roby, Myrtle Cotton, Christine Smith and Irene Powers.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Ollie Duncan Young of Hartford; one daughter, Sue Carol Harris of Hartford; two granddaughters, Leticia Ann Jackson (Randy) of Rockport, Ky., and Deborah Renee Harris of Hartford; two great-granddaughters and three great-great-grandsons.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15, at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, Ky., with Bro. Wayne Jackson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Sunday. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford, Ky.
