Walter D. Leach, Jr., 78, of Granite City, Ill., formerly of Beaver Dam, Ky., passed away Friday, Oct. 11, 2013, in St. Louis, Mo. He was born Dec. 7, 1934, to the late Walter Leach and Thelma Moorman Leach in Ohio County, Ky.
He was employed by Light Logistics Trucking Company and served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
He was preceded in death by one son, Robin F. Leach and one brother, Jerry Leach.
Survivors include two daughters, Cathy Bush of Emmerson, Ga., and Yolanda Forister of Dallas, Ga.; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Marion Leach of Beaver Dam and John Leach of Beaver Dam and one sister, Sharron Wilson of Beaver Dam.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, at Liberty United Methodist Church. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at the church. Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
