DavidWallaceDavid Lee Wallace, 48, of Hartford, passed away Monday, Sept. 9, 2013, at his home. He was born Aug. 19, 1965 in Owensboro, Ky., to Arvin Lee Wallace and Rita Brown Kempf.

He was a member of Horse Branch General Baptist Church and worked as a tug boat captain for Evansville Marine Service Inc. and he was a member of the United States Army National Guard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Arvin Lee Wallace; his step-mother, Donnie Jean Wallace; his step-father, Joseph Kempf and his son, David Lee Wallace Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Laurie Cote Wallace of Hartford; his mother, Rita Brown Kempf of Owensboro; one son, Preston Wallace of Owensboro; two step-sons, Tommy Hawkins of Whitesville and Shaun Murray of Hartford; two step-daughters, April Hagan of Owensboro and Heather Karsten of Corpus Christi, Texas; one sister, Tracy Wallace of Owensboro; two half-sisters, Terri Payne and Tammy Vick both of Owensboro; one step-sister, Pam Daugherty of Hartford; three step-brothers, Terry Tarrance of Hartford, O’Connell Tarrance of Hartford and Jeff Tarrance of Horse Branch; three grandchildren, Aubrey Rose Murray and Julia Murray Karsten both of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Jasmine Thompson of Whitesville, several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral Services will be held at 11a.m. Thursday, Sept. 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Rev. Terry Tarrance officiating. Burial will be in Horse Branch Church Cemetery in Horse Branch. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Thursday at the funeral home. Military Rites Services will be provided by Wesley Phelps Honor Guard.
