MichaelBubbaVoylesMichael “Bubba” Lynn Voyles, of Hartford, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at his residence after a battle with cancer. He was born on June 12, 1958, in Hartford, and lived in Ohio County his entire life.

Mr. Voyles was a carpenter for Johnson & Johnson Construction and a member of Hartford Second Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his mother, Shirley Faye Wallace Voyles, on Feb 15, 1987; one brother, Douglas Earl Voyles, on Nov. 12, 1990, and one sister, Rebecca Voyles Embry on Oct. 7, 1994.

Survivors include one son, Michael Joe Voyles of Hartford; father, Joseph C. Voyles and stepmother Jean Voyles of Hartford; one brother, Richard “Rick” Voyles and his wife, Janet, of Hartford and extended family, Joe Johnson and his wife Molly, Cindy Pinkston, Wanda Cameron, Cynthia Pinkston, Ronnie Johnson and several nieces and nephews.

A special thanks to Zack Dowell of Hartford as his caregiver during his illness and Hospice of Ohio County.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 3, at the Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Bro. Dale Calloway officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service on Saturday. Burial will follow in Beech Valley Church Cemetery.
