ShelbyHeflinShelby Jean Heflin, 73, of Madisonville, formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, June 15, 2013, at Ridgewood Terrace Nursing Home in Madisonville. She was born July 17, 1939, in Grayson County, Ky., to the late Dennie and Dorcie Loraine Flener Smith. She was a member of Manitou Baptist Church and was a homemaker.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward D. Smith and William E. Smith and one sister, Cloie Berkley.

She is survived by one son, Walton D. (Melissa) Heflin Jr. of Dawson Springs; two daughters, Sharon (Micky) Peech of Hartford and Sheila Beth (David) Montz of Madisonville; two sisters, Betty (Alton) Heflin of Madisonville and Linda (Jimmy) Graham of McHenry; six grandchildren, Stevie Baird, Brandon Montz, Heather Nicole Heflin, Walton Shawn Heflin, Joshua Overstreet and Cathrine Montz and four great-grandchildren, Nolan Wilson, Greyson Overstreet, Aiden Heflin and Hadley Wilson.

Funeral Service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 19, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Sam Beeny officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
