OpalDaughertyOpal T. Daugherty, 89, of Beaver Dam, went to be with her Lord and Savior Sunday, June 9, 2013. She was born Jan. 31, 1924, in Taylor Mines to the late Walton and Corda Taylor.

Opal retired from the General Electric Company in Owensboro. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Walton and Corda Taylor; her husband, Merrell David Daugherty, and two sisters Zula Trogden and Thelma Eaden.

Opal is survived by a sister, Palestene Brown, and a brother, Jewell Taylor, both of Beaver Dam; nieces and nephews, Janie Paxton of Beaver Dam, Renae (Max) Ezell of Utica, Jim (Brenda) Brown of Otwell, Ind., Tony (Brenda) Eaden of Owensboro; great-nephews and nieces, Matthew Paxton of Bowling Green, Jordan Paxton of Bowling Green, Luke Paxton of Beaver Dam, Amanda Brown of Haubstadt, Ind., Jamie Brown of Otwell, Ind., and great-great nieces and nephews, Eva Grace, Lyla Jane and Dylan James Paxton.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, June 12, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Carson Bevil officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
