OpalHavenOpal Belle Haven, 92, of Cromwell, passed away, Tuesday, May 7, 2013, at Professional Care Health & Rehab in Hartford. She was born Nov. 5, 1920, in Butler County, Ky., to the late Everett W. and Lelia Childers Phelps.

She was a member of Green River Baptist Church in Cromwell and she was a homemaker.

Beside her parents she was preceded in death by one daughter, Lula Burden and two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors include her husband of 75 years Oles Jewell Haven of Cromwell; two daughters, Linda (Larry) Chinn and Patricia (Robert) Drake all of Cromwell; one son-in-law, Bill Burden of Rosine; one brother, Jerry (Charlotte) Phelps of Beaver Dam, Alma Geary of Hartford. She was blessed with eight grandchildren, Eric (Carol) Burden, Connie (James) Pooley, Kris (Stuart) Martin, Robert (Melissa) Drake, Rhonda (Brian) Leach, Scott (Marsha) Drake, Jeff (Treva) Chinn and Jennifer (Steven) Fulton, 17 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 9, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Kelly Harris officiating. Burial will be in Green River Cemetery near Cromwell. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wednesday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Thursday at the funeral home.
