EdithFarrisEdith Farris, 85, of Echols, passed away Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Floyd Memorial Hospital in New Albany, Ind. She was born Aug. 28, 1927, in Echols to the late James and Bernice Johnson Hulse.

She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Echols General Baptist Church and loved all of her church family.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Farris; two brothers, Johnny Hulse and Frank Hulse; two sons, Howard (Lee) Sonny Settles and Malcolm E. (Macky) Lomax and a step-son, Hank Farris.

She is survived by two daughters Darlene Keith of Waldo, Fla., and Diane (Tom) Sanders of Jeffersonville, Ind.; two sons, Richard (Betty) Settles of Charlestown, Ind., and Larry (Eddie Rae) Lomax of Sellersburg, Ind.; one step-son, Roy (Bea) Farris of Echols; two step-daughters, Jeanette (Dean) Huff of Central City and Mary Jane (Larry) Bidwell of Owensboro; eight grandchildren, Mischell and Rusty Settles, David and Scott Keith, Butch and Shelly Lomax and Tommy and Kelly Sanders; seven step-grandchildren, Jim Farris, Joel Huff, Lee Messer, Melissa Tucker, Joshua Bidwell, Crystal Thomas and Evelyn Lee and 25 great-grandchildren. She was loved by all who knew her and will be terribly missed.

Funeral Service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Echols General Baptist Church with Bro. David Ford and Rev. Darrell Belcher officiating. Burial will be in Echols Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday at William L. Danks Funeral Home and 10 a.m. until the time of service Saturday at Echols General Baptist Church.
