Doris Jean Bechtel, 88, of Hartford, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012, at Ohio County Hospital. She was born May 15, 1924, in Winslow, Ind., to the late James Dale Arnold and Virga Hollon Arnold.
She was a homemaker, member of the Hartford Christian Church and Lizzie Ford Chapter #112 Order of the Eastern Star Hartford. She is precded in death by her husband, Richard Ervin Bechtel on Feb. 5, 2010; two sisters, Marjorie Arnold and Maxine Davis.
Survivors include one son, James Richard Bechtel and his wife Kay of Marion, Ill.; two daughters, Phyllis Jackson of Brownsburg, Ind., and Sheila Barnard and her husband, Jim of Beaver Dam; nine grandchildren, Darrell Jackson and his wife Kris, Dara Jackson, Carrie Intravaia and her husband Mike, Richard Bechtel and his wife Alannah, Denise Vernick and her husband Brian, Steven Bechtel, Jamie Barnard, Katie Heflin and her husband Adam and Scott Barnard and eighteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 11 a.m. at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford with Bro. Mike Erwin officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hartford. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday and again Wednesday from 9 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
