Mary Heifner Lain, 90, of Hartford, formerly of Pleasant Ridge, died Tuesday, Dec. 11, 2012, at Professional Health and Rehab in Hartford. She was born Oct. 22, 1922, in McLean County to the late Ellis L. Heifner and Ethelene Smith Heifner.
She was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church in Owensboro, was employed by GE in Owensboro and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter B. Lain on May 23, 1999.
Survivors include one son, Bernard “Barney” Lain of Sun City Center, Fla., and his wife Karen of Owensboro, Ky.; one daughter, Marsha Kay Newman and her husband Mike of Beaver Dam; two grandsons, Jason Lain and his wife Juli of Draper, Utah, and Michael Newman Jr. and his wife Kelly of Hartford; two granddaughters, Melissa Reynolds and her husband Rich of Beaver Dam and Cassie Lain of Owensboro and six great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Dec. 15, at 1 p.m. at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home with Bro. Ed Mitchell officiating. Visitation will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens in Owensboro.
