Donald C. Cornett, Sr., 73 of Beaver Dam, died Saturday Dec. 9, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health System in Owensboro. He was born in Harlan County, Ky., to the late Granville P. and Mattie Hoskins Cornett.
He was in the U.S. Army and was a retired elevator superintendent for Otis Elevator. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion Cornett; two sisters, Oakie Williams and Iva Turner and two brothers, Eugene Cornett and Freeman Cornett.
Survivors include three sons, Paul (Sarah) Cornett of Maryland, Mark Cornett of Maryland, Don (Raquel) Cornett of Florida; a brother, James Cornett of Beaver Dam; two sisters, Vivian Seiler of Maryland and Lorraine Whitcel of Virginia; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday at Fink’s Funeral Home in Glen Burnie, Maryland. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society.
