Anna Laura Brownd, 95, of Olaton, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at Beaver Dam Health and Rehab Center. She was born Sept. 28, 1917, in Ohio County to the late James and Lula Tichenor Nelson.
She was a member of Fairview Baptist Church in Olaton and the Otha Daniels Homemakers club. She worked as an inspector for Cowden Manufacturing and a cook at Sheffield’s Restaurant.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester N. Brownd and her daughter, Anna Sue Brooks.
Survivors include two sons, Sonny (June) Brownd of Olaton and Rev. Charles (Gail) Brownd of Olaton; two daughters, Shirley McDaniel of Beaver Dam and Mary Brooks of Louisville; one sister, Lillian Hardin of Centertown; six grandchildren, Tim (Debbie) McDaniel of Utica, Terry (Holli) McDaniel of Bowling Green, Chris (Sandy) Brownd of Atlanta, Georgia, Patty (Jeff) Hawkins of Beaver Dam, Ashley (Matt) Burdin of Shepherdsville and Gretchen (Craig) Likens of Olaton, sixteen great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Jeff Hawkins officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery in Olaton. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at the funeral home.
