Cleo Burden, 94, of Beaver Dam, passed away, Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012, at Beaver Dam Nursing and Rehab Center. He was born Nov. 19, 1917, in Echols, Ky., to the late Claude and Millie Minton Burden.

He was the owner/operator of RB&S Coal and he also worked as a tool grinder for Ford Motor Company and was a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Pauline Stevens Burden, his brother, Bill Burden and his sister, Evelyn Crume.

Survivors include one son, John (Debbie) Burden of Owensboro; two daughters, Mary Lee (Frank) Martin of Hartford and Linda (Charles) Roberts of Louisville; one brother, Dr. Jim Burden of Hartford; four sisters, Naomi Thomas of Beaver Dam, Anna Rae Fulkerson of Echols, Edna Mae Hawkins of Bowling Green, Jeanette “Tootsie” Taylor of Echols and one sister in law, Ann Burden of Echols, eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 14, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Wendell Romans and Bro. Robert Pittman officiating. Burial will be in Pond Run Cemetery in Echols. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. until the time of service Sunday at the funeral home. Military Rights service will be provided by Wesley C. Phelps Memorial Honor Guard.

Expressions of Sympathy may take the form of contribution to the Pond Run Church Cemetery Fund or The Sanctuary Church, pastored by Rev. Robert Pittman.
