Robert E. “Bubo” Stone, 86, of Beaver Dam, passed away Saturday, Sept. 22, 2012, at Professional Care Health & Rehab Center in Hartford. He was born Feb. 11, 1926, in McHenry to the late Robert and Matilda Leisure Stone.
Mr. Stone was U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII and a retired heavy equipment operator.
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Ernie Stone and seven sisters, Reubena Moseley, Lova Moseley, Margaret Leisure, Tressie Edwards, Mildred Stone, Marie Douglas and Mae Kessinger.
Survivors include his wife of 66 years, Mary Alene Thomas Stone of Beaver Dam; two sons, Larry (Judele) Stone of Beaver Dam and Barry Stone of Central City and one daughter, Deloris (Eddie) Gabbard of Rockport, Ind. Mr. Stone was blessed with eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 25, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will be in Render Memorial Cemetery in McHenry, with military rites provided by Wesley Phelps Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday and 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday at the funeral home.
