James Leonard Maier, 64, of Horse Branch, passed away, Sunday, September 09, 2012 at his residence. He was born May 11, 1948 to the late Jacob Maier and Eleanor Dingis Maier.
He was a U.S. Army Veteran of Desert Storm, a member of New Covenant Church in Beaver Dam, and a truck driver for Ingram Brothers.
Survivors include his wife, Portia Calloway Maier of Horse Branch; mother, Eleanor Dinges Maier of Berrien Springs, Mich.; one son, Jason Maier of Radcliff, Ky.; two daughters, Jessica Hilburn of Elizabethtown, Ky. and Tami Nelson of Berrien Springs, Mich.; one step-son, Jason Daugherty of Hartford; two sisters, Betty Maier of Berrien Springs, Mich. and Nancy Maier of Mich. He was blessed with four grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 10, 2012 at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Bruce Lindsey officiating. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Military rites service will be provided by Wesley Phelps Honor Guard.
