Edward A. “Granddad” Goff

Edward A. “Granddad” Goff, 87, of Hartford, passed away, Saturday, September 1, 2012 at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio. He was born in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Leander & Mamie Pearl Goff.

He was a member of Hartford Christian Church in Hartford, a retired coal miner for Peabody Coal Company and also worked for Shuck’s Home Builders. Mr. Goff was an Army Veteran of WWII were he was a member of the 10th mountain division and spent three years 1943 through 1946 in Italy and Germany. He loved to dance three or four nights a week at Hartford Park, Powderly, Calhoun, & Owensboro and loved to camp and work in carpentry.
 
Beside his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Jean Hatfield, four brothers, Joseph Goff, Arthur Goff, Clarence Goff, and Thomas Goff and five sisters, Evelyn Ward, Teresa Nichols, Audrey Egner, Margaret Blankenship, & Mamie Armbruster.
 
Survivors include his wife, Ramona Goff of Hartford, three step daughters, Linda (Bob) Cox of Beaver Dam, Cindy (Tom) Kish of Brakenridge, Pa., & Tracy Aranyos of Hillsboro; one step son, Chuck Burger of Orange City, Fla.; two brothers, Robert (Barbara) Goff of Summerfield, Fla. & Lee (Janet) Goff of Owensboro; two sisters, Alice (Ken) Drochter and Mavis (Terry) Blandford both of Owensboro; one sister-n-law, Carol (Dr.Arthur) Anderson of Hartford. He was blessed with eight grandchildren, Kathy (Brian) Law of Hartford, Kellie (Mark) Rowe of McHenry, Stacy (Greg) Boyd of Hartford, Brittany (Bart) Evans of Hillsboro, Brian Kish & Matthey Kish both of Brackenridge, Pa. & Randy & Tim Hatfield both of Owensboro, Ky. He had several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
 
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, September 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, with Rev. Terry Peer officiating. Burial will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Beaver Dam. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday & 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
