Curtis P. Tichenor, 56, passed away on Aug. 18, 2012, surrounded by his family and friends in St. Louis. Curtis loved his family and friends dearly and wanted all those who loved him to celebrate his life rather than dwell on his passing.
A life-long employee of Peabody Energy, at the time of his death Curtis served as Vice-President of Commercial Analytics and Contract Management. Curtis lived his life knowing that God’s promises are true. His priorities were his family, his friends, his work, his dog Lilly, and University of Kentucky Basketball.
Beloved husband of Kim Tichenor; loving father to Claire Marie Tichenor, Ryan Abran Tichenor and Ryan’s wife Sarah Warner Tichenor; dear brother of Darrel Tichenor, Bernard Tichenor, Eric Simpson, David Simpson, and Myra Elliot; dear uncle, cousin, friend and colleague to many more.
A memorial visitation will be celebrated on Saturday, Aug. 25, at Kutis Funeral Home – South County from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. A separate Memorial visitation will be held near his hometown on Sept. 1, at the Bevil Brothers funeral home in Beaver Dam, Ky., from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Centertown Cemetery, Commonwealth Community Bank, 830 S. Main St. Hartford, Ky., 42347 in Curtis’ name for the care of his mother and father’s gravesite.
