Carrie B. Williams, 91, of Beaver Dam passed away Tuesday, June 5, 2012. at Ohio County Hospital in Hartford. She was born Oct. 28, 1920, in Echols to the late Edward Johnson and Lula Mae Smith Ashby. She was a homemaker and a member of Pond Run Baptist Church near Echols.
Beside her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Williams who passed away, Nov. 3, 1989. She also was preceded in death by her step-mom, Mary Albina Lee Williams; son, Jackie Williams; granddaughter, Amy Williams; great-granddaughter, Katlyn Nicole Greenwell; three brothers, Jessie Baker Smith Ashby, Samuel Elias Ashby, and Edward Johnson Ashby and three sisters, Mary Ashby Salyers, May Lutz, and Agnes Ashley Smith.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby (Pat) Williams of Louisville and Johnny (Joan) Williams of Hartford; four daughters, June Greenwell of Beaver Dam, Willie (Jim) Vender of Centertown; Linda (Shorty) Allen of Hartford and Betty Worley of Lebanon, Tenn.; 18 grandchildren; 31 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 8, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with Rev. Alton Crowe officiating. Burial will be in Pond Run Cemetery near Echols. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. on Thursday and 9 a.m. until the time of service Friday at the funeral home.
