William Chester Baize

William  Chester  Baize, 81, went to be with the Lord Thursday, April 12, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health System.  He was born in McHenry, the son of the late William Connie and Athel D. Ashby Baize.

Mr. Baize was a member of Echols Church of God, he was a church planter,  he served his country in Korea while serving in the U.S. Navy, was a member of the Welborn Lee Ashby American Legion Post in Centertown, and a member of the Pfc Wesley Phelps Memorial Post of the V.F.W.

Mr. Baize was retired from National Southwire Aluminum  in Hancock County.

He was preceded in death by his daughter Cynthia Gail Baize and two brothers Marion Thomas and Ronnie Lee Baize.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years Virginia Sue Barrett Baize; three sons, Rev. William Alan (Konneta) Baize, Bishop Gregory (Carmen) Baize Sr. and Patrick O. (Christie) Baize; two daughters, Susan D. Baize and Fay Marie (David) Franklin; two sisters, Betty Flener and Ruby Bolton;  16 grandchildren, Kimberely, William Aaron, Sean, Tanaya, Gregory, Jr., Andrew, Alethea, Leaness, Neva, Frankie, Patrick O’Ryan, Cierra, Madisen, Meagan, Cody Lee and Joseph and nine great-grandchildren, Breanna, Brandon, Navin, Cyrah, Mina, Lucian, Alena, Zoey and Zarick.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m.  Monday, April 16, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam.  Burial will follow in Centertown Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family Sunday from 2 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Monday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m.
