Marvin C. Smiley, 65, of Hartford died Saturday, March 10, 2012, at OMHS in Owensboro. Marvin was born Sept. 25, 1946, in Ohio County to the late Samuel Bedford and Mildred Hinton Smiley.
In his lifetime he was employed at American Tobacco Co. in Owensboro, Avon Products in Morton Grove, IL, Hartford City Police in Hartford, State Contracting & Stone in Hartford and Rose Brothers Trucking.
Marvin was married to Patricia Dean Jameson of Central City in Shawneetown, Ill., on July 2, 1966.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Vernon Lee Smiley, in 1985; sister Connie Herode, in 2003, and great grandson Parker Johnson of Beaver Dam. He is survived by two daughters, Lisa Cox and Amber (Christopher) Fulkerson; grandson Brandon Smiley, Hunter, Benjamin and John Patrick and Kaileb Fulkerso; great-grandchildren Maelynn Johnson and Bryson Cox; three brothers, Seldon (Bobbie Jean) Smiley, A.J. “Junior” Smiley and Norris (Susan) Smiley; one sister, Delona (Robert) Fulkerson as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 13, at 2 p.m. at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam. Burial will follow in New Bethel Cemetery in Ohio County.
Friends may visit with the family Monday from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
