Kermit Gene Geary, 70, of Rockport, passed away, Friday, Feb. 24, 2012, at his residence. He was born June 8, 1941 in Rockport, Ky., to the late Ervin and Gracie Smith Geary. He was a member of Lonestar General Baptist Church in Centertown, retired coal miner for Peabody Coal Company and a member of the Centertown Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Gene Geary.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Ferguson Geary of Rockport; one son, Kermit A. “Bubby” Geary of Rosine; three daughters, Anita Lynn Nelson of Central City, Angela Dawn Carter of Beaver Dam and Sierra Marietta Blacklock of Owensboro; one brother, Charles Junior Geary of Morgantown and one sister, Grace Lavon Carey of Louisville. He was also blessed with ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lone Star General Baptist Church in Centertown with Rev. Randy Geary officiating. Burial will be in Echols Cemetery in Echols. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until time of service at the church.

William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam is in charge of the arrangements.
