BEAVER DAM, Ky. — Joyce Abner, 88, of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Oct. 9, 2025.
She was a beloved mother, grandmother and friend whose kindness and strength touched the lives of all who knew her. Born in LaRue County, Kentucky, on Dec. 10, 1936, she dedicated her life to her family and friends.
She is the proud mother of five children and the cherished grandmother of nine and great-grandmother of 23.
She was preceded in death by her son, Henry Clay Edlin III; parents, John and Faye Worful; brother, Norman Worful; the love of her life, husband, Marion Lacey “ML” Abner.
Joyce Abner was a woman of devoted Christian faith who found great comfort and purpose in her relationship with the Lord. She loved to travel, create beautiful crafts, and spend time visiting with her friends and neighbors. Her warmth, laughter and caring heart will deeply be missed by all who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 13, at Bevil Bros. Funeral Home in Beaver Dam with John Thompson officiating. Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of service. The family asks that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to St. Jude or Friends of the Shelter. Envelopes will be available at funeral home.
