CRAWFORDVILLE, Fla. — Douglas Hunter Ashby, 90, of Crawfordville, passed away on Monday, Sept. 8, 2025. Douglas was born in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. He was the son of Bardwell Lee Ashby and Carrie Lee Hunter.
He retired from AMAX coal company as president.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Jo Buck Ashby, Jan. 3, 2022, and brother, Charles Bardwell Ashby, Feb. 25, 1960.
Survivors include three children, Charles Douglas Ashby, of Tallahassee, Florida, Jeffery Wayne Ashby, of Columbia, Kentucky, and Jana Lea Rickenbach, of Crawfordville, Florida; five grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Carolyn Lou Ashby.
No services will be held.
