KSP proactive patrol reminder issued to motorists

In News by OC Monitor Staff

HENDERSON, Ky. — The Kentucky State Police offers periodic reminders to drivers who travel Kentucky roadways. The KSP strives daily to ensure the safety of the motoring public. These proactive measures include various roadside safety checkpoints and saturating known problematic areas in the district through general patrol tactics.

The KSP utilizes traffic safety checkpoints to promote safety for motorists using public roadways and to deter those violating laws in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.

A traffic safety checkpoint aims to provide high-visibility public safety services, focusing on operator impairment and vehicular equipment deficiencies, as well as confirming the presence of valid vehicle registration and insurance, and a valid driver’s license. Any other violations of law or public safety issues that arise will be addressed.

These checkpoints will enable the KSP to focus its efforts on enforcing Kentucky traffic and regulatory laws, thereby enhancing the safety of the commonwealth’s citizens.

Post 16 serves the following counties: Henderson, Daviess, Union, McLean, Ohio and Hancock.
