MADISONVILLE, Ky. — Janet Lynn Moore, 50, of Madisonville, passed away Aug. 22, 2025, at Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh, Indiana. She was born July 24, 1975, in Hartford, Kentucky, to Teresa Schroader and David James.
A loving daughter, mother, proud Grammy and a friend to many, Janet’s life was not always easy, and through hardships, she never stopped trying her best. Even in her passing, Janet’s generosity lives on as she gave the gift of life through organ donation.
Janet was a woman of many joys and simple pleasures. A true coffee lover, she could often be found savoring her favorite cup while reading a good book or listening to music that filled her heart. She had a beautiful voice and a natural love for singing, often brightening the lives of those around her with song. Shopping trips, long afternoons outdoors, and quiet moments with nature brought her happiness and peace.
Janet was preceded in death by her grandparents, Juanita Oldham, Foster James, Corabel James, Anna Myrl Schroader, and Dova James and aunt, Emily Geary.
She is survived by her parents, Teresa (William) Schroader, of Hartford, and David (Susan) James, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky; children, Ashley (Sam) Greer and Jalyn Moore; grandchild, Merrick Greer, all of Hartford; brother, Trampas (Sally) James, of Rockport, Kentucky; her partner, Joshua Forehand, of Madisonville; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Aug. 29, at William L. Danks Funeral Home with Rob Melton officiating. Friends may visit from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
