HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Sherry Martin Allen, a beloved mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, who left us peacefully on Aug. 25, 2025, at the age of 64 surrounded by her family and friends. Born on March 16, 1961, in Hammond, Indiana, to the late Carl Martin and Wilma Lindsey Martin.
Sherry spent her life creating a tapestry of love and support for those fortunate enough to know her.
Her laughter and kindness will be profoundly missed, but her spirit will forever resonate in the hearts of her family and friends. Sherry’s strength and resilience, despite life’s challenges, served as a guiding light for those around her, inspiring many to embrace each day with hope and compassion.
Besides her father, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years Gregory Dale Allen and a sister, Debra Jane Martin.
Sherry dedicated herself to her two sons and their wives, Jarod Dale Allen (Tara) and Joshua Gregory Allen (Sarah), nurturing them with a warmth that only a devoted mother can provide. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, Jacob, Taylor, Aaron (Comfort), Brayden, Paxton, Lily and Abigail; one brother, Matthew Martin (Renee); and a sister, Patty Leach.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sherry’s life during a public viewing at Hartford Funeral Home on Aug. 28, at 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. This will be a time for all to gather, share memories, and honor the profound impact she had on our lives. A funeral service will follow at the same location at 2 p.m. where we will come together to reflect on her beautiful spirit and the love she shared freely. Sherry will be laid to rest on Aug. 28 in East Fairview Cemetery.
As we say goodbye to our dear Sherry, let us remember her unconditional love, her infectious laughter, and her unwavering support.
