NWS issues Heat Advisory for Ohio County

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued a Heat Advisory for Ohio County. The Heat Advisory goes into effect at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, and is set to expire at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19.

According to the NWS, max heat index values are expected to be around 105 degrees. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose-fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
