FORDSVILLE, Ky. — Harold David Smith, 68, of Fordsville passed away Aug. 16, 2025, at his residence. He was born Feb. 3, 1957, to the late Harold Dean and Wanda Maybeth Smith.
He was a 1976 Daviess County High School graduate and manager of the boys basketball team. He was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
David’s many hobbies included watching professional wrestling, the L.A. Lakers, and UK basketball. He was an avid fan of UK basketball and never left the house without wearing a UK shirt and hat. He also enjoyed collecting movie and TV show DVDs. His knowledge of movie and TV trivia was impressive. His “day on the town” included a visit to his friend Steve’s Star Trax video store and eating at Cracker Barrel.
He is survived by his siblings, Bill (Kristi) Smith, of Hartford, Kentucky, Paula Ann (Dwayne) Jameson, of Beaver Dam, Kentucky, Kathleen Smith (Craig) Bell, of Van Buren, Ohio, and Lori Beth (Jennifer) Smith, of Owensboro, Kentucky; nieces and nephews, Casey (Karissa) Smith, Kent (Tacia) Slack, Kaelan (Alyssa) Bell, Becca (Brad) Moore, and Brandon Bell; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 22, at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Fordsville with burial to follow in Smith Family Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11am until service time at the church. Geary Funeral Home of Fordsville is in charge of arrangements.
