HORSE BRANCH, Ky. — Odas Walker, 94, of Horse Branch, passed away with his faithful son by his side Saturday, Aug. 16, 2025, at Signature Healthcare of Hartford, Kentucky. He was born Aug. 11, 1931, in Mountain Home, Arkansas, to the late Lum and Martha Vandiver Walker.

He was a retired coal miner.

Aside from his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel Reynolds Walker; 10 siblings; and great-granddaughter, Sadie Rena Sutton.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory are a son, Tim Walker, of Horse Branch; two daughters, Voni (Bob) Powell, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, and Betty Barnes, of Tulsa, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Ashley, Steven, Brandi, Crissy, and Elizabeth; several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Hetti Barnett.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, at New Bethel Cemetery in Hartford, Kentucky with Bro. Bill Burks officiating. Friends may visit with Mr. Walker’s family from 12:30 p.m. Tuesday at the cemetery.
