CENTRAL CITY, Ky. — Delores Jean Dukes, 84, of Central City, died Wednesday, Aug. 6, 2025, at 9:40 a.m. under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mrs. Dukes was born Jan. 1, 1941, in St. Louis, Missouri.

She was a homemaker and member of Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (Lighthouse). Mrs. Dukes loved her husband, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed flowers and she loved her church. She also enjoyed playing the piano at church since 1956. She was always traveling around with her husband, and was always ready to go somewhere.

She was preceded in death by her father, Elder Robert Daugherty; mother, Bernice Strickland Daugherty; and sister, Betty Lou Daugherty.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, William Lowell Dukes; son, William Robert (Christy) Dukes; daughter, Staci L. (Benjamin) James; and grandchildren, William Lucas James, Miranda James, Presley Dukes, and Annyston Dukes.

Funeral services will be Saturday, Aug. 9, at 11 a.m. at Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (Lighthouse) with Elder Steve Epley officiating. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. at Tucker Funeral Home in Central City and Saturday after 8 a.m. at Apostolic Church of the Lord Jesus Christ (Lighthouse).
