Extreme Heat Warning issued for Ohio County for Tuesday

LOUISVILLE, Ky. The National Weather Service in Louisville has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for Ohio County. The Extreme Heat Warning is in effect until 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 29. Ohio County is also under a Heat Advisory, which expires at 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 30.

According to the NWS, dangerously hot conditions with afternoon heat index values around 110 today for portions of Indiana and north central, northwest, and south central Kentucky. Heat index values of 105 to 110 are possible for Wednesday. The only relief will be in the form of isolated showers and storms that will feature heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and lightning.

Heat-related illnesses increase significantly during extreme heat and high humidity events. Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors.
