EVANSVILLE, Ind. — Denver Maurice Baize, 64, of Evansville, formerly of Owensboro, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville and is now in the presence of his savior, Jesus Christ. He was born Sept. 18, 1960, in Madisonville, Kentucky.
Denver was a member of Harvest Baptist Temple where he had sang in the choir. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching NASCAR.
Denver was preceded in death by his father, Delmar Baize, in 2019; a brother, Richard Baize; stepfather, Larry Griffin; two nephews, Nathan Payne and Jacob Baize; and a great niece, Alyssa McCracken.
Those left behind to treasure his memories are his mother, Lois Griffin, of Owensboro; his brothers and sisters, Benita Pearson (Pastor Ed), of Rogers, Arkansas, Shelia Payne (Matthew), of Jacksonville, Florida, Michael Baize and Marty Baize, both of Owensboro, and Stacy Turner (Steve), of Philpot, Kentucky; three stepsisters, Pam Gibson (Troy), of Olaton, Kentucky, Vinita Hollman (Kevin), of White Plains, Kentucky, and Rhonda Brooks (Gerald), of Bremen, Kentucky; and numerous nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 29, at Harvest Baptist Temple with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery in Central City, Kentucky. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at Harvest Baptist Temple.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the people of Deaconess Midtown Hospital and Park Terrace Village of Evansville who cared for Denver in his last days.
