**UPDATE** LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The National Weather Service in Louisville has extended the Heat Advisory for Ohio County and much of the area. The Heat Advisory is in effect now through 7 p.m. Sunday, July 27.
According to the NWS, heat headlines remain in effect for this afternoon and tonight due to high afternoon heat index readings. The only relief will be in the form of isolated showers and thunderstorms that will feature heavy rainfall, gusty winds, and lightning.
