McHENRY, Ky. — Scotty W. McLain, 74, of McHenry, passed away Sunday, July 20, 2025, with his wife by his side at his residence. He was born Feb. 16, 1951, in Harlan, Kentucky, to the late Wilson and Barbara Dingoes McLain.
Scotty was a retired coal miner and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family.
Aside from his parents, he was preceded in death by five siblings, Bobby Joe McLain, David McLain, Debbie McLain, Kyla McLain, and Gladys McLain; great-granddaughter, Kinsley Daniel; and sister-in-law, Brenda McLain.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 49 years, Mary McLain, of McHenry; three children, Tina McLain, of Centertown, Kentucky, Brian (Elizabeth) McLain, of Owensboro, Kentucky, and John (Christi) McLain, of Olaton, Kentucky; seven siblings, Donnie McLain, of Virginia, Gary (Mossie) McLain, of Harlan, Earl McLain, of Lexington, Kentucky, Shirley McLain, of Georgia, Judy McLain, of Corbin, Kentucky, Jean McLain, of Utah, and Rhonda McLain, of North Carolina; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, July 25, at William L. Danks Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky. Burial will follow in Echols Cemetery. Friends may visit with Scotty’s family from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
