HARTFORD, Ky. — Margie Leola Johnson, 76, of Hartford, passed away peacefully on June 12, 2025, at her home under the care of her family and Hospice of Ohio County. She was born on May 19, 1949, to Willard and Daisy Coles.
She was the widow of Earl Thomas Johnson, to whom she was married for 55 years and worked alongside at the Reliable Dental Lab.
Leola was a delight to everyone who knew her, had a heart for serving others, and was always ready to offer a hug to anyone. She was a volunteer for Ohio County 4-H and a previous member of the Beaver Dam Woman’s Club for many years.
She was a lifetime member of Plainview General Baptist Church. Leola was passionate about spending precious time with family and did so at every opportunity for special celebrations and gatherings. An exceptional cook, she was known for her delicious homemade meals and desserts.
Leola is survived by her son, David Johnson (Tonya), of Hartford; her grandson, Luke Johnson, of Henderson, Nevada; her sister, Elsie Epley, of Russellville, Kentucky; her brother-in-law, Ray Johnson, of Cape Coral, Florida; and two nephews, three nieces, and several great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, at Plainview General Baptist Church in Auburn, Kentucky, with Bro. Arno Kranz presiding. Visitation for family and friends will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service at the church. Her burial will be at Plainview Cemetery in Auburn, Kentucky.
Bevil Brothers Funeral Home in Beaver Dam, Kentucky, is in charge of the arrangements.
